This class has been an amazing experience for me and given and insight in what photography is gonna look like in the future. I've learned so much from Ms. Siwek and all the different ways I can photograph someone or something. I'm very proud of my effort I put into the classwork and the assignments we did throughout the course. I got a pretty good grade on each of my assignments and that just make me really happy. I'm also very proud of the relationships I developed over this whole semester, each and every moment I spent with them I felt awesome. The main assignment i probably struggled on was Frame and Composition because there was one component which was rule of thirds that I really didn't understand but then finally got the hang of it. I dealt with it by asking the teacher and peers around me for help. What brought me most satisfaction was taking photos because I felt like I was in a different world taking photos. What was most frustrating was the sketchbook assignments because sometimes I would forget to do them. I always had to set reminders to deal with these sketchbooks, it's how I remembered.
Something that we did this year that i'll remember the most is the portraiture assignment because i loved taking photos of other people and seeing there expressions. I would change the small cameras to better cameras for better qualities and that would be pretty much it. The new cameras give the pictures way better perfection then smaller cameras because they have larger pictures with more pixels. Three most important things that I learned in in photography 1 is how to treat a camera, different topics in photography, and how to Photoshop/edit photos to make them look better. Something that was hard for me at the beginning but is easy for me now was posting and uploading my pictures unto my Weebly website. I was having a difficult time getting them to the right size so they would upload but throughout the semester I finally got the hang of it. In the area of photography that made the most improvements was editing photos in Photoshop. I've made my photos look better in lighting, brightness, cropping, contrast, levels, and other adjustments. I've also improved the ways I take photographs, new ideas just come to me everyday I was in the class. The best photograph that I did this year was one with my friend Kelani walking on the sidewalk, took the photo from a low angle. This photo I used for my Portraiture assignment and I love it so much because it has a powerful meaning where women have the power to stand and fight. I think it's the best because of the angle I took it from. Ms. Siwek doesn't really have to change anything because the work challenged us and that what us as students need challenge. The work might have been frustrating but something new was learned from each assignment. Some words of advice I have for the next coming students is to always do your work and do not slack off for a moment because you will fall behind. Just turn in everything on time and you'll be fine!
